Himgiri Zee University has been established to meet the growing demand for trained human resources in various social, educational, scientific, technical and professional organizations so as to channel human energy towards sustainable economic and social development.
In order to make a positive difference to education and employment, Shri Subhash Chandra, Chairman, Essel Group of Industries and Zee Telefilms had brought together in 1995 a group of committed anthropologists, sociologists, economists and development communications professionals to set up TALEEM Research Foundation in Ahmedabad. One of the mandates of Taleem Research Foundation was to set up the Himgiri Zee University
Based on the motto `Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (World as Family), Himgiri Zee University has been established for the vocationalisation of higher education which is national in character and transnational in jurisdiction.

All the candidates appearing either for Entrance Examination or Direct admission have to submit duly filled admission form with attested photo copies of testimonials. Original testimonials are to be shown at the time of admission. The reservations of seats are as per the Hon'ble Supreme Court's decision. The selection of candidates for admission to any course in university seat (50% of the total) and payment seats (35% of the total) is made on the merit list prepared on the basis of the Entrance Test conducted by the college on all India basis as per University orders. 15% seats in all the courses are reserved for NRI/ Management/ Sponsored candidates.
There will be no Entrance Test in this category and Direct Admission procedure is followed. Any seat which remains vacant after expiry of stipulated times, given to a candidate on waiting list will automatically revert back to the general category. The final selection is done after conducting the interview/counseling of the candidate by College Admission Committee.
Our Training and Placements Division, a specially dedicated wing handling placements and related affairs, is in continuous contact with the leading corporates, from all fields, throughout the country and abroad.
During the placement season, these companies have a cycle of group discussions, personal interviews and written tests, all of which is arranged inside the campus by our placements cell, and for which our students are exclusively trained since the first semester in terms of aptitude, personality development etc.
AGI is very proud of its placement statistics, where 90% of our students are pre-placed during the campus interviews itself, with a majority of the students getting placed within their core academic field!
